Author Visit! Katherine Applegate spoke to students at Potter Gray, T. C. Cherry, and Parker-Bennett-Curry this week. She is a Newbery Medal-winning and #1 New York Times bestselling author with more than 150 books including “The One and Only Ivan,” “wishtree,” and “Crenshaw.”

She spoke to students about her inspirations for writing; using imagination, research, and also several re-writes throughout the process.

Thanks to the Warren County Public Library for bringing another fabulous author to our schools!

BGISD plans to be in school and on normal schedule tomorrow, February 2, 2026.

The City and BGISD Maintenance Department have been working to clear snow and ice. However, we are still unable to be in school safely tomorrow, Friday, January 30th. This will be NTI day #5. We hope to be back on Monday!

Wednesday, January 28th, and Thursday, January 29th, 2026, will be Non-Traditional Instruction Days for BGISD. Teachers will continue to communicate assignments and be available to help during school hours.
